Off to CAMP!!!!

Good morning Star Shine. The Earth says HELLO!
Haha. It's not morning, but, I thought it would be funny to put that quote from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. What a great movie!

Anyways, this will be my last post until I get home from CAMP. We leave tomorrow morning (bright and early!) and we don't come home until Friday evening. I will make sure to take many pictures so I can post them when I get back :)

Please be praying that everything goes well and that we would get the most out of each service and altar call. I would greatly appreciate it.
Until then, HASTA LA VISTA!!!!!!

P.S. I will not have my cell phone with me so you'll have to wait until Friday to text or call me :)

Mini Golf

Hey Everyone! Today was our Mini Golf Summer Survivor Challenge. It was definetely a nice (maybe too hot) day to get nice and sweaty and then enjoy a nice COLD ice cream cone afterwards. Well, I personally didn't do the greatest. I was in a group with Brianna, Jess and Brittany. Brianna got first place with a score of 63, Jess got second (not sure what her score was), and Brittany and I tied for last with a score of 93!! Sorry to the red rebels. I'm sure I didn't help our average score out too much. Oh well, the main thing is we all had fun! Thanks to Pastor Aaron for showing me how to put pictures up! Now I'm not tempted to throw my camera out the window for not being able to figure it out :) Enjoy.

My group taking a break to smile for the camera!

Everyone enjoying nice cold ice cream after the difficult 18 holes of mini golf.

Okay, I'll stop now. I am getting too "picture happy." I apologize for any slow computers out there. I can only imagine. God Bless!

I say poop poop

Looks like brianna is ready to take a poop poop too.

Adios to Sellman Law Office

My full time secretarial duties have come to an end. Tomorrow is my last day of work!! These (almost) 2 months working there have sure flown by! Granted, I am ecstatic (does using big words make me sound more professional?) about being done, however, I really liked this job. So, in a way it will be kind of sad being done. It was great having a job that you actually looked forward going to. I bet a lot of people can't say that! Not only did I have fun doing computer work, running errands, gardening (yes, that was one of my duties there), and many other tasks, I really enjoyed the people I worked with. They are extremely funny people and I'm really glad to have met them. I am hoping that they will offer me the job again next summer. I could definetely use the $$$$$$!
Working full time really does exhaust you. I know what a lot of you are thinking "Oh I'm sure working with a computer is really exhausting." No, that's not. But, getting up early everyday, then not getting home til 5, then hanging with friends, then not going to bed til late, then getting up and repeating the same procedure 5 out of the 7 days of the week... it gets tiring. I will gladly accept the job again, if they offer it to me though.
I'm hoping that I'll be done working for awhile. In Austin I might be babysitting/nannying for the Youth Pastor and his wife there. That'll give me a nice break from having to work a real job.
Well, I don't have an excuse not to stay out late anymore so...let's party it up before August 19th comes!!!! WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!

Baptism

July 24, 2005. A day I will always remember. Years past I've wanted to get baptized, but, I've been too chicken. (Don't ask why, because there wasn't anything to be scared about!) A few weeks ago when Pastor Randy mentioned that the baptism was coming up and encouraging people to sign up if they haven't already been water baptized, I thought about it, kind of having a little hesitation. Then I decided that I needed to take the next step in my relationship with God -- I needed to get water baptized. So, Sunday was that day! I am SO glad I decided to go along with it, rather than choose not to, and having regret. It was very special for me because Pastor Aaron is the one who baptized me. It means a lot because he has been one of the most influential people in my life, and he's always there for me, no matter what! So, if you're reading this PA, Thank you so much!!!!! Thank you to everyone else who was (and still is) supporting me and also to Jess Broberg and Mrs. Williamson for taking pictures to help remember this great occassion. I greatly appreciate it!

I will put up pictures as soon as I figure out how.

The New Investment.....

I'd like to start off by saying WELCOME HOME CAMP BUDDIES!! I know you were only gone about 5 days, but, it seemed like a looooooooong time for me. From the very little I've heard so far, it sounds like you guys had a GREAT time and I hope God did some awesome things in your life!! Can't wait to hear all of the stories :)

Anyways. The New Investment. I figured since I have a different car, my aunt has a computer at her house, and that I don't need to pay a whole lot of college tuition, I'd invest in something I've wanted for a long time. So, I decided to buy myself a digital camera!!! Granted, I don't know a lot about electronics, however, Pastor Aaron recommended a "Canon S" camera, so I just went ahead and bought it. Pastor Aaron's trustworthy...right? haha. So stay tuned - pictures will be coming soon!!
Then when I'm in Austin I can keep everyone updated :)

Love you all!

***Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good!***

the new ride

So, I've gone to a couple of car dealerships and haven't really seen any cars that caught my eye, so, my mother and I looked through the Manney's shopper. Well, we saw an add for a 2003 Cavalier with really low mileage , so, we contacted the person who was selling it. He invited us over to come check it out and to give it a test drive. AHHHHHHHH!!!!! I fell in love with it!!! So- WE ARE BUYING IT TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We just have to sign some papers and give him the $$$MULA$$$ and it's mine :) This worked out super well because yesterday I went to a couple dealerships to look around and they were far out of my price range, so I was pretty bummed. So I was just praying and hoping that the right car would would come at the right time and that I could find one that didn't have an outrageous price. This one was only $5,900 (and it looks pretty new) but, he finally went down a couple hundred and gave it to us for $5,700 - the lowest he'd go :) Yay!! I'm glad my parents didn't have to spend any more than that.
Say goodbye to my teal Plymouth Acclaim and HELLO CAVALIER!!!!!
Sure didn't take long to find a new one, eh?

What a Day!

Hey everyone!!!
Today has been such an AWESOME day!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Granted, it's only halfway through, but, so far everything has been A Okay!
It started off like this:
Every Friday one of the Attorney's I work for buys us a lottery ticket. No, I'm not a big fan of gambling, but, I said any money that I happen to win on it I'll give to Speed the Light, so, it's going for a good cause. So I scratch mine today and I won $5 !!! WOOHOO! I was the only one out of 8 people to win! So I was pretty pumped about that. Then, today I had to put my two weeks notice in. I was soooo nervous to have to tell my boss that I have to quit, and my stomach was knotted and I procrastinated telling her. Finally I got a little nerve. I went up to her office and told her. It couldn't have gone any smoother~!!!!!! She was like "I understand...you're a teenager, of course you need time off before you move!" So Praise the Lord!! I didn't expect her to be mean about it, but I just felt bad because she is a super nice lady and I just started at the beginning of June so I felt bad quitting so soon. But, I couldn't have asked for that to go any better than it did. THEN (yes, there's more) I came home for my lunch break. I go into my room and there's a card sitting there that says "Congratulations Amber." I knew this was the graduation card my parents were waiting to give me until "the good news." Well, I read it, kind of surprised that they didn't put any money in it. Finally I got down to the bottom and it said "As of today, you can go pick out a new car!!!!!!!!" AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! I literally was screaming and jumping up and down. I knew they were going to get me a new car, but I didn't think I could start looking today! Wow...it's been a GREAT day so far. I thank the Lord for allowing it to go so smoothly!
But anyway, my lunch break is coming to an end so, I will chit chat with everyone later. Thank the Lord Almighty for HE IS GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where has the Summer Gone?

Can anyone believe that it is July 11th already?! Seriously...it seems like just yesterday I was walking across the stage to accept my diploma. It always turns out that if you have things planned or if you don't want it to go by really fast, it will. But, if you had nothing planned and just sat on your butt 24/7 the days would go by slower than a turtle! (ok, bad analogy). It's crazy to think that this Friday I already have to put my two weeks notice in so I can have August to myself. Didn't I just start my new job? Jr. High camp is next week already ..and Senior Teen is in 21 days. August 1st is in 21 days..ahhhhhhh! Then after camp I'll need to start packing, and, in 39 days I'll be heading off to Austin. Wow. I am seriously in shock of the summer flying by! So let's cherish the summer and moments we have together while they last :)

~Question of the Day~

What is your favorite quote?

Friday, July 08, 2005

Planting Seeds

By this topic I don't mean planting "tomato seeds" or "pumpkin seeds," rather, planting seeds in peoples hearts. Something that happened yesterday gave me the desire to write on this topic.
Brooke and I were waiting for the Domino's pizza deliverer to come to my house when finally he showed up, we gave him the money, you know, the usual procedure you follow when ordering pizza (:P) He was one of the nicest pizza deliverers I have encountered!!!! But now I'm getting away from my point. Anyway, after giving him the money and when we turned around to bring the pizza to the back yard Brooke yells out "JESUS LOVES YOU!!" and instead of the man replying with a giggle or "oh ....ok" like I thought he would, he stopped for a moment and just said "Thank You." I thought that was extremely cool because you never know when seeds can be planted in peoples hearts. Who knows? Maybe in a week, or month, or year, or 3 years from now he'll come to know Jesus as his Personal Savior? Or, maybe he hasn't felt love for a long time and he needed to hear that? Simple things such as saying 3 words... "Jesus Loves You" may effect people for eternity! You never know when the opportunity may come to plant a seed in someones life who may be looking for an answer, so, may God always be glorified on our lips and let people who are searching for an answer see the love of Christ through you, rather than having them catch you at "the wrong time."

Weekend Recap

Happy July 5th everyone! I trust that everyone had a great weekend. I know I did!! I love having eventful weekends like this one past. Usually they go by really fast and aren't that fun, but, this one was totally opposite!

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEKEND:

*Saturday: Shopping trip to Duluth. Jessie, Brittany, Brooke and I decided to have a "girls day out." We first went to the Miller Hill Mall, following that we headed to PetCo, then TjMaxx. Let's just say that some new memories/traditions were made for "J," "Taye," "Lucky," and I. The time in Duluth was filled with laughter and fun!!
*******P.S. ******* Mrs. Willy, thanks for the cookies, once again, and I hope you don't think I'm a bad influence for trying to get Brittany to get her cartilege pierced :P
I could go on and on and on about this day, but, I'll save everyone the time and tell about the rest of the weekend.

The rest of the night consisted of : going to Walmart, fireworks, and sleepover in the Williamson camper! **I promise there was no such form of prank calling going on at this time**
hahaha there are a lot of other funny things I would like to tell you about this day but, sorry, can't!

*Sunday: Sunday I had people over for a BBQ. We ended up playing numerous games of "Finlander (or french, depending on what you'd like to call it -hahah craig.) Bocce Ball," regular Bocce ball and horseshoes. We then went to the Nashwauk fireworks -which were wonderful (along with Keewatin). Then, we came back to my house for a bonfire and fireworks.
Thanks to everyone that came and brought stuff for the BBQ. It was A LOT of fun! We definetely will have to play more rounds of Finlander Bocce ball so I can kick your guys butts once again :P

*Monday: To start off the day Fire Marshall Craig invited Brooke and I to ride along in the firetruck in the Nashwauk parade. Before the parade Brooke and I discovered that tow trucks can now tow bikes away. Needless to say, it was a blonde moment for the both of us :P It was pretty fun waving at all the cute little kids! After the parade I came home for a little bit, then went to Brooke and Jaci's house for dinner. They're dad made delicious steak and Jaci made chocolate cheesecake....YUM!! I then went to the Duluth fireworks with Brianna, Brett, James, and Opey. That was the first time I've seen the Duluth ones. They lasted about a half hour (i think) and were extremely pretty!!

Then, the weekend came to an end. It's back to work time! I was extremely tired today for staying up so last night , but, it was worth it. I went to work and a fellow employee asked "So, Amber, who do you know from the Keewatin Fire Dept?".....

The End.

Of course there was a lot more that went on, but, to save you time I summed the weekend up. It was an extremely fun weekend!!!!! I hope everyone else can say the same:)

Sisterhood of the Traveling......?

What a day! Today Jessie & Brit Williamson and Brooke and I made a road trip to Duluth. It started out when I picked Brooke and the Willamson's up and Mrs. Williamson surprised me with a whole bag of her delicious home-made cookies!!! She then took a picture of all of us before our exciting adventure. (Thanks Mrs. Willy!!!) It was fun on the way there because we all sang songs (since my car doesn't have a radio) and talked. Then, our first stop was of course, the mall. At first I was kind of bummed because I tried a bunch of clothes on that I liked and that the girls picked out for me, but, they either wouldn't fit or they just didn't look right. I haven't been shopping in the longest time and I happened to have a lot of money with me that I've saved just for a new wardrobe, so I was kind of dissappointed. It always seems to work like that though, either you have a lot of money and can't find anything or you find everything you want and don't have any money! Funny how that goes. But anywho, back to the story. Brittany and I (it was her idea) decided we'd go back to American Eagle and look just one more time to see if we could find something. Then WALLAH!! Brittany pointed out these really cute pants to me and at first i wasn't even going to try them on because I thought the price was kind of high, but then I figured that I had this money and I haven't bought anything yet and I thought these were cute pants, so, I tried them on. Needless to say, they were the only thing I ended up buying at the mall. But hey, I was happy after that!!! :)
Finally we were almost done shopping, we decided to cool ourselves with a coolor from Caribou Coffee (delivious!). After that we sat around at the food court and discussesd what we were going to do the rest of the time in Duluth. After the mall we decided to go to PetCo just for the fun of looking at the little animals there. Following PetCo is when the REAL fun began. We decided that we'd to go to TJMAX as our last place to go since they have really cute clothes for cheap! Unfortunately, because of secrecy of the Sisterhood, I won't be sharing all we did at TJMAX, but, let's just say today was literally one of the funnest days I've had in a LONG time! Not only did we get to hang out with each other and spend quality time, but, there were definetely some new memories made. I even think this whole trip made us become better friends. So, every girl out there deserves to take a road trip and forget about everything in their home town. Relax and have fun!! Thank you to "J," "Taye," and "Lucky" for making this day so fun and memorable!! We definetely have to do something similar before the end of the summer!

From the Kitchen of Mrs. Willy.....

Granted sometime in life we have tried a chocolate chip cookie. I can almost guarantee you that they weren't even close to the ones Mrs. Willy makes. These cookies are TO DIE FOR!!!!!!!! A few nights ago when some people were at her house she was making them...just seeing the raw batter looked delightful and tempting. We were all zoned and in awe just watching the ingredients being blended together. Then, she takes them out of the oven and serves them while they are still extremely warm....causing the cookie to crumble and the chocolate to melt in your mouth. THEY ARE AMAZING!!!!! No cookie can compare to Mrs Williamson's chocolate chip cookies. And I am not saying that sarcastically! So, if you have never tried one of her famous cookies, I suggest you politely ask her to make some sometime :P They're sooo amazing !!!!! I'm thinking about hiring her to make me a bunch of cookies for my wedding, rather than having cake. hahaha. I must have had around 10 of them, seriously. (I stopped counting after 4 :P). I just thought I'd brag about them--yo'ure definetely missing out if you've never had them before!! Feel free to make them anytime, Mrs williamson!
