GOD ROCKS!

To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:

A time to be born,
And a time to die;
A time to plant,
And a time to pluck what is planted;
A time to kill,
And a time to heal;
A time to break down,
And a time to build up;
A time to weep,
And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
And a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones;
A time to embrace,
And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to gain,
And a time to lose;
A time to keep,
And a time to throw away;
A time to tear,
And a time to sew;
A time to keep silence,
And a time to speak;
A time to love,
And a time to hate;
A time of war,
And a time of peace.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

I am so thankful that the Lord knows our needs and what is on our heart. Although we may feel far from Him, we can take comfort in knowing He is always near! I am so thankful that He knows what is best for us. I am so thankful that He uses people to speak through. And I am so thankful for people who listen to God and share what they feel God is laying on their heart! I am so thankful for the peace He gives.

Lately a couple of things have been heavy on my heart and kind of bothering me because I haven't felt peace about them. Then today Pastor Aaron gave an excellent message, leading to an altar call, leading to my good friend Brianna going up to the altar, leading to her to listen to God's voice, leading to her to tell me some things she felt God placing on her heart for me, leading to me finding peace about the things that have been bothering me. God's timing is so perfect and as much as I feel impatient having to wait for certain things to get worked out in my life, I can be assurred that HE is in control and will work things out according to HIS plan...not mine :)

Anyway, in summary, church was excellent and I am thankful and have been given a much needed peace! If that makes sense.

Thanks for allowing me to share my feelings!
Thanks Brianna for listening to God's voice!!!!!!!
Thanks to God for being so awesome!!!

Yes, God definetely rocks.

An Update

Hello everyone!

I am sorry that there has been some gaps between each of my posts. I decided it's time to update! Pretty soon I'll have pics of my new purple room. The painting is done, but I would like to wait until I have it re-arranged and wait until I have a purple carpet. Right now I have a green carpet that totally throws the whole "purple" theme off. So bare with me! As I'm sure you're all waiting in anticipation :P

What's new with me? Let's see... I have been busy with school. At first I didn't have a lot of homework, but now it seems like I have an overload in each class. I have to give a speech on the 28th, and I have a project due for American History sometime in May. Yes, that is 3 months away, but you know me and my procrastination...but I hope to start on it sometime soon. It should be fun anyway. I'm doing it on my family's background. So maybe I'll learn some new and interesting things! I have had about a paper a week due for my writing class which keeps me busy as well. I realized how glad I am to have started my college career at a community college. Kudos to everyone who goes to a major university!!!

I am continuing praying about where I shall continue for the fall. I am going to fill out an application to North Central. I'm not for sure if I'm ready to transfer there or not, but at least I will apply just in case a last minute transferring occurs. (For example: realizing you're going to transfer back to your home town during Christmas break.) Other than that I don't have any other colleges in mind. There's a chance I might stay at HCC and get my AA degree, then figure out where to go from there. That would give me more time (as if I haven't had 18 years already...) to pray and go over my options. If anyone wants, you can pray about my future if you'd like! That'd be a great help. I would greatly appreciate it!!!!

I will be going to Texas to visit
Bobbie in 13 days! Whoah....WHAT?! 13 days?! Wow....sorry....it just clicked to me now how close that is! Less than 2 weeks. I am excited to see her! It will be nice getting away for a while and having a break. This will be my second time going to Texas. I have been to Houston before-- about 5 years ago. We only stayed overnight, so, I didn't get to do much exploring or touring. My goal is to travel to each of the 50 states at least once in my lifetime! So far I've been to: Minnesota (Thank you, Captain Obvious), Wisconsin, North Dakota, Illinois, Hawaii, Texas, Florida, California, and Iowa. And in July I'll be heading to Colorado! I should try for more of the East Coast states..

And that's about it for my update.

Leave a comment if you wish. Hope you have a marvelous day!

My Valentine's

Who says Valentine's Day has to be depressing for single people???

Thank you Mrs. Willy for the cookies! I think we had them devoured (yes, girls can devour food) within 10 minutes of the party. No joke. Absolutely delicious!!

Cheers! (with this, of course)

Thanks Girls!

Skiing Fun

Today I was able to enjoy a fun day of skiing at Mount Itasca (in Coleraine) for only $10!--ticket AND rental. How could anyone pass up that price??? Rod Pelkey hooked us up with the sweet deal! I was talking to Lara (Pelkey) there and she mentioned that we would probably be able to do this more often if a lot of people want to keep going for the group deal! Sweet. You can count me in! This was about my 6th or 7th time skiing, and my first time in about 3 years. Thankfully, I left there with 0 wipeouts! I can tell I will have a couple sore knees tomorrow from wedging (a/k/a "plowing") while trying to stop, though. Not everyone can say they had 0 wipeouts. Brooke tagged along for her first time! Of course, as everyone starts out, she had a few nice wipeouts (including ending up under trees...but I'll let her share those stories!) but overall she improved GREATLY from the 1st run to the last. Thanks to Rod for the sweet hookup! 'Twas a lot of fun.

Picture #2: Proof of Brooke's wild first skiing experience! :)

Happy Birthday Lil' Bro!

Hey ya'll. Sorry about the lack of posting this week. I don't know what came over me! I am just as shocked as you are. I guess the lack of posting could be from not knowing a birthday between the 4th and today, and Milton (my fish) is STILL alive --believe it or not. :)

Just want to wish my brother Joshua a very happy 18th birthday!! Welcome to adulthood!!! What a fun birthday to remember. First we're excited to be 10 because we've hit the double digits!, then we look forward to 13--isn't it exciting to be a teeanger?! (actually, it is.), and 16--license time!!!!, then 18--adulthood.

No matter how old you get, you will always be my lil' bro. I love you Joshie poo!!!! HAPPY 18TH!!!!

He is definetely a better cook than I am. I can't even get a successful grilled cheese. That's not being sarcastic. And the second picture he's showing off his Woman's Study Bible. haha, it's obviously mine. We always take random/weird pictures when we're bored!

My Fish are Cursed

Well, if you haven't already guessed by the title, McHammer passed away today. CAN YOU BELIVE IT!?!?! I got two fish on Saturday, right? And yesterday Gideon died and then today I saw McHammer acting funny. I kept a close eye on him. He eventually was "sleeping sideways" (or so I made myself believe) on the rocks at the bottom, and I saw him take his last breath. Not kidding. I saw the fins go up and down once...and that was the end. I don't think I am doing anything wrong! I only give them a pinch of food once a day like the Wal-mart employee told me. Maybe he died because of depression. Well anyway, I miss the two of them. I got them on Saturday and they didn't even last past Wednesday :( Poor fish. Well, I can only hope the best for Milton (my new one--he was suppose to keep McHammer company--but I guess that didn't work out too well). I hope I won't be writing another RIP fish post tomorrow. I think I will leave Milton alone for now. No more friends!!!

R.I.P. McHammer

Feb. 2nd: HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my niece Samantha!!!

Have no Fear!

Everything's okay! Last night I went to good ol Wally World to buy McHammer a friend. His name is Milton. They seem to get along just fine. McHammer is no longer depressed!!! I hope this doesn't mean I'm going to be addicted to buying 28 cent fish....I probably will be. Oh well. They're cheap and easy to take care of! :D Does anyone know why blogger won't let me press return on my posts?????? It wouldn't let me yesterday either when I tried. HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Warning: I know a lot of late January-mid February birthdays. Have a great day everyone! Pslam 49:3 "My mouth shall speak wisdom, And the meditation of my heart shall give understanding."
