Hibbing Here I ... Stay ...

As some of you might have heard already, I found out a couple days ago that I will be staying in Hib-town for next semester. I wasn't expecting this transition, but due to certain circumstances, my mom and some other family (myself included) would prefer that I stay here. I don't know what to think. I mean, I was kind of a loner (my own fault) in Austin, but I will miss the people I got to know- including Pastor Cory and Angie. I love Hib-town a lot, and it will be nice being around more family and friends again, but in a way I am kind of bummed. I enjoyed experiencing a life different from what I've been used to living the past 18 years. I can only hope and pray that this is the Lord's doing and not my own.....I have to trust God and know that this whole situation is in His hands (Thanks, Mrs. Willy). So I guess I won't have to try to "squeeze" time in with people. I am here for good. Well, at least until next fall....
Thanks to everyone who has been praying and for taking the time to listen! What would I do without my friends and family??????

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I'll post again next year.

My Date with Britt

Yesterday I had the privilege of taking this lovely lady to Grand Rapids for an early birthday present. Sweet 16 is definetely a year to remember, so I wanted to make it special! I told her we were going to do whatever she wanted to do. So I picked her up from school and we made our way to DQ in Nashwauk. Then we made the rest of the trip to Grand Rapids and headed straight for the mall. We were in luck! We were hoping that Santa would be there for us to take a picture with, and right when we got there we read the sign saying "Kids- Santa's here!" But we pretended it said "Teens- Santa's here!" hahaha. Never too old for Santa! So we giggleishly made our way to where santa was to get our picture taken! (Ask us if you want to see if- we have it on a keychain!) Anyway, that was a lot of FUUNNN, and we were informed that we weren't the only "older kids" to get our pictures taken- even an 82 year old woman asked Santa to give her a kiss on the cheek! haha. So we decided that was going to be our tradition. Getting our picture taken w/Santa every Christmas (Thanks Mrs. Willy for the idea!). After that we headed over to Burger King (Britt's fav. fast food place!) for some dinner and icees! We had about an hour or a little more to spare before our movie began, so we headed over to Target. We didn't buy much there. We then headed right over to the theater to see Chronicles of Narnia!!!! Okay...Thanks so much Britt for choosing to go there!! I LOVE THAT MOVIE!!!!!!! I definetely want to read the books now, but that is off the point. We got our tickets, bought more icees (i think we are addicted!) and enjoyed the movie! That concluded our time spent in GR. After that we called Ruth to see if she was up to anything, and she invited us to stop by her house and say hello. We spent a good 15 minutes or more chatting w/her, but we all decided that we were getting tired so we hit the road back to Hib-town. I then dropped BWilly off and that concluded our date.
There were many laughs (hopefully it helped burn off all of our calories) and it was a GREAT time! Thanks so much Britt for taking the time from your busy schedule and hanging out with me!!! Hope you have a fantastic Sweet 16!!!!!!!!!!!!! (yes, i will put something on my blog when it is her actual b-day). I love you girl!!
I wish I would have taken some pictures to put on here :( Oh well, make sure to ask to see our picture w/ Santa =)

"Mary, Did You Know?"

It seems like each Christmas I have a different song that sticks out to me. This year it's "Mary Did You Know?" I love this song w/a passion!!! I always find myself listening to a song but never actually paying attention to the lyrics, but recently I found myself listening to these words more closely and I was in awe! I could listen to this song 24/7 and it amazes me every single time I listen to it. I can't say that about a lot of songs.
The line that sticks out to me the most is "The boy that you deliver will soon deliver you!"
Wow...powerful, eh?? I think so anyway.

Mary, Did You Know?....

That your baby boy would one day walk on water?
Mary, did you know that your baby boy would save our sons and daughters?
Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you new;
the child that you delivered will soon deliver you?
Mary, did you know that your baby boy will give sight to a blind man?
Mary, did you know that your baby boy will calm the storm with His hand?
Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod?
When you kiss your little baby, you kiss the face of God!
Oh Mary did you know? Oh Mary did you know?
The blind will see, the deaf will hear the dead will live again.
The lame will leap, the dumb will speak the praises of the Lamb.
Mary, did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary, did you know that your baby boy will one day rule the nations?
Did you know that your baby boy is Heaven's perfect Lamb?
The sleeping child you're holding is the great I Am! Mary did you know??

Wow...all I can say is WOW...

Let me know what your favorite song is this season! Or.....song in general I gues!

Hats Off to the Grad!

11:30 PM. Shannon, Jon, and Murphy arrive! 1:00AM. We hit the hay. 4:40AM. Time to wake up and get ready to head to the Hawkeye state! 6:10. The two hour trip to Ames begins.
After only getting 3 hours and 40 minutes of sleep, I was surprisingly awake enough and in a good mood! I guess I have been used to the little sleep lately, so it didn't really bother me. Plus, I slept most of the way to Iowa. We stopped at a gas station on the way and Shannon & Jon bought me a cappuccino. Well, I was holding it in my hand when I fell asleep and I woke up to Jon saying "WOAH Amber!!" . . . to find that I had spilled my cappuccino ALL over my khaki pants!!!!!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!! Of course, I was upset and thought that it would ruin my whole day, but I decided I'd keep my mouth shut and just get as much off as I could, then sleep it off. I woke up in a better mood, thank goodness. I just figured there wasn't much I could do about it, so, why be angry??? So I had to go to the graduation with a nice big brown stain all the way down my leg, but I guess I found it more funny than I did embarrassing. Anywho, we arrived at Iowa State University about a half hour before the commencement ceremony began. My cousin's boyfriend Nick graduated w/ a degree in Animal Ectology and Forestry. After that we headed over to their apartment to have some lunch. I met some of his family-- some from Texas, the others from Iowa-- for the first time, which was fun! We stayed and visited awhile then hit the road to Spam Town. Now I plan on watching the 10 o'clock news (I am seriously addicted.....to the NEWS!), then hit the hay. Being up for 17 hours sure takes a lot out of you! Thankfully I was able to sleep some on the way there and back. Anyway, that's about all i have to share.
Just want to say CONGRATULATIONS NICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Way to go! I wish you the best of luck in deciding where you're going to graduate school and for the rest of your future!
Tomorrow will be another day of studying for finals. Monday I have 2 finals. One I don't really count as a final because all I have to do is turn in papers. Then on Tuesday I have one final at 8:30AM and after that I am FREE!!!!, and I will then hit the road to Hib-town! Can't wait to see every one!!!!

Here are some pics.

Some of the professors of ISU.

Nick & cousin Stacy after the ceremony
Since I give so much attention to Murphy, I had to make sure to recognize Scooter the ferret (taken w/Aunt BonBon)!

Stacy & Nick opening early Christmas presents from Nick's family, since they will be in HIBBING for the holiday. (YAY!!!!!)

Silly Stacy.

Overall, the day was great.. Regardless of staining my pants w/cappuccino! Nothing like spending the day w/relatives and meeting new people in the process!

The Beginning of the End

Hello friends!

I am so thankful that yesterday was the last day of classes! Now today the finals begin *ba da dum......* (that's supposed to sound scary!). haha. Today will be my first college final! Thankfully, I only have one today. Psychology. 2:30. I get to sleep in......YESSSSS! You know me and how I love SLEEP! Ahhh, what I'll be doing right after this post! yeeeeeahhhhhh. (I think I've had enough caffeine...) I hope it's not too difficult, but you know what? I did some studying this week and tomorrow I'll do more before, so I am not too worried. Just gotta try my best! I cannot wait until finals are over.......I could definetley use the 19 day break!

Shannon, Jon, and Murphy will be headed here tonight! They are going to spend the night because on Saturday we are headed to Iowa bright and early to go to a graduation. I think we have to leave here around 6 AM!!! Be up and ready to go all before 6. Ahhhhhh! It takes two hours to get to Ames from here, and the graduation starts at 9! So the extra sleep I get tomorrow (or today) will definetely help. Hmmmm......what else can I share with you?

Oh yeah!..I am getting my hair cut in about 9 hours. I'm not sure if I am going to get a couple inches off or just get a trim. I guess I will find out when I get there!

I hope you all have a great weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Put a smile on..put a smile on....everybody c'monnnnnn put a smile on! :D

You know what I love? When I stay up until 4 in the morning writing a paper, sleep for 3 hours, then get up to find that all classes are cancelled today because of the weather! I should have known. I was just going to not do my paper, but that would have been bad if it wasn't cancelled. Can you believe it? Oh well, at least it's done and I can SLEEP!!!!!!!!!!! If I would have known classes were cancelled, I wouldn't have done the paper anyway and procrastinated like usual, so I guess I'm happy about that. You should see how much snow we have!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (those aren't excited exclamation marks)
I've been posting a lot lately.......hmmmm? That's okay.
Amber's goal for the day: Get my car shoveled out and go to Target to buy some boots! Like I said, I have a bad habbit of PROCRASTINATING! When will I ever learn?

1 Week 'til Takeoff!

Hello every one! Only 7 more days until takeoff. I cannot wait to be in Hibbing for 19 days! Not that Austin is horrible and I want to leave ASAP, I'm just excited to be able to hang out w/family and friends for so long!!! I even had a dream last night about going to Hibbing. Must always be on my mind! haha. Thumbs up for Christmas and for the end of the semester!! Well, the end of the semester sure has been keeping me busy, like it has all college kids. I have a lot to be taken care of before I hit the road including a paper due tomorrow, two essays due Thursday, a final on Friday, 2 finals on Monday, and 1 final to finish off the semester on Tuesday, and I have a bunch of worksheets due for one class on Tuesday. During that time I still have to pack, buy some more gifts (yup....I think I might just wait til Hib-town to do that and maybe go to Virginia or something), make a hair apt, go to Iowa for my cousin Stacy's boyfriend's graduation on Saturday, and hmmm...I think that's it. Oh yeah, i should probably squeeze actually going to the classes and sleep in there sometime too. Food can wait. I'm not trying to complain or anything, I'm just letting you all know what's the scoop! Can't wait to see ya'll! LOVE YOU!
P.S. Can someone tell me what Rustproof is doing for New Years???

A Not-So-Dull Weekend!

Hello every one!
Thanks for stopping to check out my blog. :) hahaha. Anywho, it seems like out of all the weekends I've been in Austin, I haven't actually stayed in Austin to hang out w/people and to enjoy the people! I've either gone to Iowa, or Mankato, or Hibbing, or Lakeville. God was kind of placing it on my heart that if I actually expect to get to know people or to have a fun weekend in AUSTIN, then I better actually stay here a weekend, ya know?? I don't always need to be rushing and thinking that if I'm not doing something every minute that I am doomed. That's not the case. So I decided I was going to stay here this weekened, even though Bonnie asked me to go to the cities w/her. I said "Nope! Sorry...I am stayin here this weekend!" And what do you know?? Friday a gal I know in a couple of my classes and from church invited me to go to an all-nighter thing that a Christian group from our school called R.I.O.T (Righteous Invasion of Truth-Christian fellowship) was putting on. Well, it didn't end up being an all-nighter. It only went until 1. But it was pretty sweet because i met a lot of people from my school that I didn't know were Christians. So that was fun...and Saturday I babysat for the Goetz's and another couple. That was also fun. So overall I had a GREAT weekend. I hope you all can say the same.
Thanks Lord for always knowing what's best for me!!!!

Just want to share a couple Bible verses that have stuck out to me this past week....

1 John 3:18 "Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth."

Proverbs 15:13 "A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit."

I love you all!

My Little Helper

Some may call me obsessed, but I can't help it! I love this pup...and he's not even mine! I had the privilege of dog-sitting Murphy again for a week! This time he was very well behaved. We didn't have any accidents in the house, nor did Amber get woken up during the night for an emergency bathroom break. Anyway, he kept me company. Now who can I share my popcorn with while watching a movie in the late hours?, or, Who will nag at my sweatshirt sleeves when they want my attention, or cry at the door when I leave? In other words...I very much enjoy hanging out w/the little dude! He's a lot of fun. Not only was he fun to hang out with, but he even "helped" me with some things! Hence the name "My Little Helper."
Taking a break from making the bed to pose for a picture.

Job well done, Murph!

His favorite spot in the house. I think he was hinting that it was too cold!

Just hanging out.

Scary!

I think I will become a professional dog-sitter.

HAPPY 26TH BIRTHDAY SHANNON!!!!!!

I hope you are having a wonderful time in Michigan :)
(She gets to spend her b-day at her brother-in-law's wedding :D)

You know I love ya! (& So does Murphy :D)

Also, I would like to say THANK YOU to Mr/Mrs. Anonymous who shoveled our sidewalk this morning! I went outside to let Murphy out and found that it was already shoveled :) The things people take time for to help another.....
God Bless YOU....seriously....and maybe let me know what your address is or when you might be here next so I can bake you some cookies :D
What can you do to help out another today, or this week, or throughout the month? 'Tis the season to be jolly, my friends!
