Life in the Past Month and a Half
A lot has been going on this past month and a half since I posted last. Let's see...
The middle of October was our annual MYC(Minnesota Youth Convention) held in Rochester. I went as a leader for my 3rd year in a row and let me tell you it is just as fun going as a leader as it was going as a studente! We had two amazing speakers. Our first one was Michael ...I forget his last name..oops! He is from Ireland. First off he had a really cool accent, and secondly he is an amazing speaker. He talked about we being an army for the Lord. It was a great service and a great time of worship following. The second night our speaker was Nate Ruch. I was fortunate to hear him speak once before. He spoke at our senior teen camp one year..he is great, too! He is just a down to earth guy who has an evident passion for teenagers. He talked about youtube (yes, the actual website!) and how our lives are being played out everyday....what would our video show kind of thing. God did some great things in everyone's lives there. Youth convention is always something the youth look forward to as it is a much needed break from school and a time to visit with friends from other areas and a time to really get refreshed by God.
The end of October I was fortunate to make my way to Wisconsin yet again. Sydney Williamson was in her high school play "Hello Dolly." This has been a trip I've been planning for a while ever since I knew the dates of the play! I went to both the Friday and Saturday performances...both which were phenomenal, seriously! I was able to stay with the Williamsons for 4 nights (thank you once again!) which was a blessing. I am thankful that I have jobs that are lenient for scheduling and that I am able to make those trips every so often...can't stay away from them for too long!!!
Speaking of jobs...after this Tuesday, I will only have one job. Yes, that is right! I have put my two weeks notice in and will be done in two very short days. I guess there was a lot of reasoning put into it and just know that my time at the group home is done. Change is hard, and I will be sad leaving there as it has been a great experience working with people with disabilities...I have enjoyed them so much! It was a very rewarding job and this past year and a half has been wonderful getting to know those four amazing clients....not to mention getting to meet other clients and employees throughout the company. It is a very well ran company and I am sad to go! But trusting God to direct my next steps...
As for now, I will still be working at the eye doctor's office. Anticipating what God has in store!!!
Other than that, I have just been getting ready for Thanksgiving. I love holidays!!! I love spending time with family, the laughter, the games...everything! I especially love Thanksgiving as I really do have a lot to be thankful for. God has been so very faithful to me and although life has it's disappointments and trials, God always prevails and is in control!
I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving and hope your weekend is blessed!
Come back for my Christmas post! hahaha j/k. I'll try to post before then. :P
